Family.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Steps of Justice family. We have all spent Christmas in different places across the USA and Canada, connecting with family, friends and getting perspective on the past year and vision for the year to come.
Life.
This past year has been filled with surprises and opportunities for us as a ministry. We (Steps as a ministry and The Cunningham Family) moved to San Diego in January, and have seen life and ministry change and grow. We are working primarily with the refugee community, specifically the Syrians coming into San Diego. Over 1400 Syrians have come into San Diego this year, and it has been an honor to serve them with the love of the Jesus. We also have people working with refugees in Lebanon, and people serving the needs of disaster areas, like the Haiti trip we hosted in October.
On December 17, we helped plan and host a Christmas Celebration for approx. 40 Syrian Families (160 people) in San Diego. Check out the video that the local news posted here.
We also, as a ministry, continue leading short term mission/service trips for young people. This year we are hosting 3 trips to Cambodia. Phil, our co-founder also continues to teach on issues of justice and compassion.
Support.
Steps of Justice is a ministry of YWAM international. Our staff all raise their own financial support, and the primary source of running the ministry comes from donations and teams. It has been miracle after miracle as we have seen people respond to God and give to the work that we do. One of the aspects that we love about our lives is that our jobs reflect our lifestyle, convictions and beliefs. We work to see people come into relationship with Jesus. We do this through evangelism (sharing with those who have not heard), training (teaching the word of God to train those who are followers of Jesus) and mercy ministry/Justice (serving the needs of those who are poor and vulnerable).
We are grateful for the last year, but are also expectant as we go into 2017. We pray that you, our friends, supporters and partners find the peace and life that God wants for you (John 10:10). Please let us know how we can pray for you, and we will continue updating you on our lives so you can pray for us.
Happy New Year from the Steps of Justice family.
