This summer we are taking two teams to Cambodia to serve on our Matthew 25 trips. We are so excited to serve the people of Cambodia with you. Cambodia is so open to the Lord, they are looking for change, they are looking for justice.
I recently got back from a trip to Cambodia and saw first hand the hunger for Jesus. Cheo, pictured above, came up to me limping as he was hit by a car 4 years ago, and hasn’t properly healed. I asked Cheo if I could pray for his legs, he said yes and so I did. After praying, Don, a follower of Jesus and friend of Cheo translated for me as I explained to Chee what it meant to follow Jesus.
So for the next 15 minutes or so I shared with Cheo about who Jesus was. Don, a natural evangelist, translated for me. Ran, another tuk tuk drive who had accepted Jesus 5 months earlier explained that since he started following Jesus he has felt joy in his life. I continued to explain that Jesus is the creator of everything, including Buddha. We talked about how Jesus wants to heal him and give him life, not just after death, but right now.
I asked Cheo what he thought and if he wanted to give his life to Jesus. He looked at me and said that he was ready. Don prayed with him in Khmer and he proceeded to ask Jesus to save him from sins and come into his life. I gave Cheo a bible and connected him with a local pastor who will baptize him next month.
An hour or so later Sumbut, another tuk tuk driver, came up to me and told me he wanted to get baptized. I grabbed Don and got him to translate for me as we shared with Sumbut what it meant to follow Jesus. A few minutes later we were praying with Sumbut as he asked Jesus to be his savior. All the while I’m thinking in my head “are you serious? This is amazing.” I encouraged Don to start a tuk tuk Bible study and disciple these drivers who were now trying to figure out what it means to follow Jesus as a tuk tuk driver in Cambodia.
Cambodia is open and ready for Jesus. The harvest is ready, but the workers are few. Please come to Cambodia with us this summer and be a part of seeing God move among the people of Phnom Penh. Check out more info on the trips here.
